Local Tahiti Services include shopping, banking services, medical care, and much more you may need or desire. The local village of Patio has a market with foods and incidental items for basic needs, government offices, doctors office and police station. For a better selection, and more variety, you need to go to Uturoa, the second largest city in French Polynesia. It is near the airport on Raiatea island, about 30 minutes away by shuttle or Motu Moie’s boat. There you can find most everything, including various shops, markets, restaurants, hardware and building supplies. Raiatea also has a community hospital and radiologic clinic. In Uturoa, you can also find technical support and help with repairs on the motu, for electric issues, solar panels, new or upgrade construction, boat repairs, and most other issues. Beyond that, the capital city of Papeete has anything else you may need, from auto dealerships to shopping malls.
