Kayaking in Tahiti

Kayaking in Tahiti is great fun. Today’s kayak adventure starts on Motu Moie. We start out from our bungalow, heading south. We pass by our living/dining room, and around the motu’s south end. The water here is barely knee deep, with few fish and no coral. Passing by the Taha’a side bungalow, we reach our coral garden. We maneuver between the coral heads, as the colorful fishes scamper away. As we proceed through an opening of the ancient reef, we follow along toward the west. The views are spectacular. The waves are breaking over the living reef, a hundred yards away. Bora Bora looms ahead about fifteen miles. Passing through the next opening, we head back to our motu. Time for lunch.
